My experience with Eli has been a great one. I was struggling with pre-calculus junior year when he was recommended to me by one of my water polo teammates. Eli helped me from a D to a B+ in a matter of weeks. That is not to say that he will do the work for you, because he will do no such thing, but rather the manner in which he explains it is very comprehensive. I am very bad at taking standardized tests. They are frustrating, boring, and require a level of focus that I did not have until I started working with Eli. Eli is a very experienced tutor and has an astonishing amount of real ACT practice exams. He took the time to learn my strengths and weaknesses with the ACT and then designed a long-term study plan, which consisted of taking as many practice ACT exams before the actual test. In short, Eli’s study plan is tough, but once you are done working with Eli, taking the ACT becomes second nature. Eli corrects each practice ACT exam himself and leaves comments all over the exam to help the student learn from their mistakes. Eli always made sure to have me go over his corrections and understand why I got particular questions wrong. If I ever had questions about a confusing question, Eli would always do the problem himself and then show me how he came to solve the problem. Eli wants his students to take as many tests as possible, but he cares even more that his students understand their mistakes. Eli is a very easy person to talk to and I came to enjoy spending time with Eli because of his positive and encouraging attitude. Overall, Eli helped me become a significantly better test taker and his guidance led me to increasing my ACT composite score by 4 points.

The first time I took the ACT, I struggled with the timing of the test as well as the English section. When I got my ACT score back it was poor overall and my English section score was horrendous. I knew I needed to get help because standardized testing was difficult for me and growing up I barely learned English grammar. That is when Eli and I started to work together. Eli is probably the nicest and most charismatic tutor in town and he has a whole network of students that all come from different backgrounds so he is very good with people. Eli specializes in math but he is so knowledgeable that he taught me how to tackle every section in the act. His method with the ACT was simple, “learn by doing”, I took numerous ACT tests to gain familiarity with the exam and after every exam we would go over my mistakes in detail. After many sessions of hard work and ACT exams, I took the test again and got the score I needed. Eli has been a welcome guest in our house for close to four years. Eli first came to our house in November, freshman year. Our son was in Honor's Geometry.
